Network Marketing Tips / Ask A Chameleon
By debbybeachy on Jan 22, 2010 in Personal Value

Why, do some network marketers get the attention of prospects and others don’t? Because, successful network marketers study people and what makes them tick.
Many brilliant people have studied and written books on personalities. Florence Littauer, divided the personality types into four groups: phlegmatic, sanguine, melancholy and choleric for some, these words are clinical and hard to remember. Using colors in the place of words simplifies it, Phlegmatic (yellow), Sanguine (blue) Melancholy (green) Choleric (red).
Yellows,, take up 35% of the population, they’re the nurtures. Yellows are great network marketers because, they’re team builders and supporters.
Blues, (my color), we take up %15 of the population, blues want to have fun. We love Network Marketing because, we are high energy motivators!
Greens, take up 35% or the population, they’re analytical. Greens tend to analyze everything to death. Greens are great in network marketers because, they’re the planners and organizers.
Reds, take up 15% of the population, reds motto: “get out of my way or it’s the highway”. Reds are great in network marketing because, they’re focused, goal oriented and get the job done.
Each personality has a special place in network marketing, and on your team. How, do you get prospects to lean towards you and not away from you? Study people, be a chameleon and talk their language.
Chameleons have all the fun!

As I get older, I get a little more blue–I used to be more green–I loved the “to do” list. Now I have less to do, so I can have more fun creating paper projectrs. Sometimes, getting older is not so bad. lol
Hey Debby
Great post. I have studied personality theory for a long time and am a big fan of knowing your team. As network marketers it is imperative that we understand the personality type of our team members (both up-line and down-line) so that we can communicate with them effectively and build a successful organization. Being able to adapt our approach to be most comfortable for the personality we are dealing with, is going to yield the best results.
