Edible Landscape is Hot! Hot! HOt!

Cafe 27 Stevens Point Wisconsin Yummy!

There’s a buzz going around in my hometown community that’s revolutionizing the way we dine out. Edible landscaping is Hot! Hot! Hot! and it makes perfect since. What better way to combine viable landscaping and healthy organic eating, all wrapped up in a relaxing atmosphere which was inspired by a 27 hour trip to Paris…Cafe 27 of Stevens Point Wisconsin.

It’s always a delightful tasty tantalizing experience when I’m eating out with my mom, daughter or my husband. We look at the food presented with little tasty salads (two or three of them) with the main course and wonder….how did they create this? Oh Yum oh!

I believe collectedly as we become more aware of how poorly we have treated our bodies with eating greasy, sugary, high fat food that change will eventually come. We now know diets don’t work, eating low fat will only will put more sugar in your body (processed foods) which will turn to fat. Eating high fats and tons of red meat will throw your digestive system into overload making you feel sluggish and sick as your body works overtime to digest it.

Mother Earth has been good to us giving a full bounty of harvest when we give her the respect that’s due her. Likewise our bodies have been good to us keeping us going every day, even when we don’t reverence it enough to eat the way God intended us to eat.
I hope this inspires you to grow a garden along beside your flowers. Be aware of what you put into your body everyday and be very grateful for Mother Earth, our hard working farmers and to support our farmer markets thus feeding your body the best that this earth can provide.

      Hi Debby,

I’m trying hard not to be too envious because I would love to go to a restaurant just like this one. It sounds amazing! I’ve been moving towards a more raw diet and the food looked perfect for that – all the salads. Like you said, Yum-O.

This sounds yummy! Non processed foods taste so much better, so many more nutrients. It’s a little scary the nature of food these days. Planting a home garden would be a good thing. Maybe more of them will pop up.. thanks for sharing this!

          Hi Debby,
Unfortunately I do not currently have a garden. I have a cement terrace, I am one block from the ocean, and I have no ground around me. However, I am so conscious of food nowadays. Organic fruits and vegetables are best, but then after sitting at the computer for a few hours I just have to go out – and that leads to food with sauces, overcooked veges if any veges at all, etc. I am finding it a daily event to carefully select my foods.
Melissa, I have discovered that adding fruit to my diet, early in the day, definitely cuts out my craving for sugar for the whole day.

            Hi Debby,

When I saw the Hot Hot Hot I got excited because I love hot spicy foods. I’m glad I read your post because it brought me to being grateful for what we have and our food supply. Gratitude is always a beautiful place to be.

            Thanks,

I enjoyed your post, Debby. One of the best ways of passing on healthy eating habits is to get children involved in gardening and cooking – and I’m proud to say that my boys enjoy both! Whilst a big garden is great, children (and grown ups) can get plenty from window boxes, pots and planters. You can grow strawberries in hanging baskets, potatoes in a tub, herbs in a window box and miniature fruit trees designed to grow in a large pot. This kind of gardening/eating requires little maintenance but gives a great deal of joy.
                Thanks for sharing.

                  Hi Debby,
I’m glad to say that my household is very aware of the benefits of a good diet. That isn’t to say we don’t have our treats but I think it’s about balance and moderation.

I think you’re right though, organic where feasible and the opportunity to buy local is the way to go.

                  Thanks again for your post!

                  Regards,
                  Andrew

Great blog Debby. My husband and I are pretty careful about what we choose to eat and I always love to see information that assists people in making better choices.

Sometimes it’s just nice to know you’re not the only one who cares about such things. Especially now that psychiatrists have declared that, if you focus on eating healthy foods and avoid sugar, white flour, etc. it may mean you have a mental disorder. Yikes!!

Thanks so much for spreading the word of local, organic and sustainable food choices! We really are what we eat ~ so every time I put something in my mouth, I consider the energy of the food (where it came from, what’s in it, etc.) and how it will likely translate in my body. Conscious awareness around eating has completely gone out the window, and so I applaud you for making it so fun here on your blog! I am right there with you! :)

Oh, and I just got back from a month in WI … I wish I’d read this first, I’d have met you at this beautiful little place! Next time…
