Network Marketing Tips / How Curiosity Saved The Cat!
By debbybeachy on May 24, 2010 in Network Marketing Tips
My new book that I’m reading this week is, “Tribes” by Seth Godin I feel like all network marketers need to read this one! So much of what he writes about in this book speaks to me, but what really jumped out was his paragraph on, “curiosity.” This one chapter inspired me to share a video with you on stepping out of your comfort zone.
I think a good dose of curiosity without fears can only take you as a person to exciting places and your business to the next level. I would be interested in knowing what you think, leave me a comment with your perspective!

Debby,
Great video about the differences between a fundamentalist & being open to all experiences that come your way. I found that asking myself “Why Not?” has assisted me in staying open to new life lessons along my journey.
Have an awesome day!

Debby, What an inviting video. You have such an engaging way of introducing your topic. Since I am not a network marketer but rather a Healing Through Love Mentor (psychotherapist turned coach and mentor), in listening to your words I realized that what you are saying applies to all types of marketing, not just MLM. You talk about moving out of your comfort zone – You can do the same and broaden your reach. You have a lot to say. And since you, yourself, are curious, you will also have more and more to share with all of us. I love your statement that curiosity does not kill the network marketer but curiosity actually helps to expand the person’s tribe (don’t remember exactly how you worded it).
Seeing you video on your blog has just inspired me to put my new video on my blog, the one I just created on Sunday, which is now on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/DrEricaG
Please check it out and let me know what you think.
Great job on your video. Thanks.
Hi Dr. Erica
We do have a lot in common for sure we both have red hair!
Thank you so much for a such a nice comment. This can apply in many ways in life. Ha Ha I’ve always been curious and I’m so blessed that I’m free to test the waters, make decisions and not be bound by the “statice quo!”
I’m on my way to your YouTube channel now!

Seth’s insights are the most unique and possibly the most wise in today’s age.
I think that curiosity is snuffed out of us with most of society. I’m so grateful that it was re-ignited in me and it led me to a great bunch of people!

Debbie,
Curiosity is such a vital part of life. Children have it, but somehow as adults we tend to lose it. Thanks for the reminder to stay open to all possibilities and veer towards the curious side!

I do agree you need to step out of your comfort zone to have success. Every marketer should pick one attraction marketing strategy and work at improving it.
Have a great day!

I think curiosity is driven from passion, whether it be of a specific subject or just learning in general. Many people get stagnant in live and never venture out of their bubble or circle of influence. Ever so often I try to step outside of the box and create a new box, find new inspiration and new things to learn from.
Good Food for Thought!
I also read Seth Godin’s book and was very impressed by it because it makes you identify your own areas of leadership which you need to do before you can have a tribe. This is often one of the most difficult things to determine.
Have you read “The Purple Cow” also by Godin? Its the type of book that leaves an indelible impression on your mind.
And by the way, I think your blog looks great.
