Habits of successful people renew their minds.

Okay, you know I’m on this quest. I’m eating to lose weight and I’m out to prove you can lose weight without all the counting of calories, without writing down everything I eat in a journal and without starving myself. But, that doesn’t mean I can keep up with the old habits that hold me back. In this video I will tell you my plan on how I’m going to make this work.
I have a video on “The Slight Edge”, the slight edge can work for you or against you, it’s really up to you. This is going to be a process and I know I’m going to have to check back with this post to keep myself accountable. Our minds, bodies are so inter-related that if we are out of shape and not feeling good about yourselves then how can we feel good about the way our business is going, we would be out of balance. Let me know what you think about this topic…and don’t forget to get into “the loop” to keep up on my progress!

Debby,
You are adorable and so authentic. You asked what habits we have since childhood. I did not eat late at night. I was thin and very athletic. But what I learned was to “not waste food,” to “finish everything on my plate,” and to “taste everything.” Therefore, I enjoy food. When I go to a buffet, I usually feel as if I HAVE to taste a little of everything. And lately, with working so much at my computer, I fell into a habit of sometimes eating late at night. That has stopped now – and I have returned to serious exercising.
hiya debby! first off, you are BEAUTIFUL! and, only you know what your ideal body weight is. as you know, i’m a weight loss coach, and late-night eating really is such a challenge with a lot of folks struggling to lose weight. i encourage them to CHANGE habits rather than stop habits. first, make yourself think about being thin and recall WHY you want to be thin. then, have the late night eating become a walk around the block, two glasses of water, a bowl of veggies, etc. can’t wait to track your progress!

Agreed. Eating late at night is a curse for me. Actually eating all day is.
I know I have the power to go down in weight and more importantly to be more healthy.
the lifestyle factor enters in and that will contribute to poor health at times of course.
Thanks for the direction and encouragement needed.

its good post, what is the secrets to replace the old habits into new habits.
Hey Youth Entertainer
You have to renew your thinking and your self-image.
A low self-image will always cause people to develop a “GB,” a “Going Back,” to an old comfort zone or set-point.
People will literally sabotage themselves to stay there. Quoted from Ron McIntosh’s book “The Greatest Secret.”
You will change your bad habits and replace with good habits when you change the way you think about yourself
from the “Inside Out.”
Renewing the self image is probably the beginning of anew. Eating late is addictive and nothing but a bad habit. You have a great post here that will make you think! ouch

Nice video message. and I look forward to hearing more! I congratulate you on breaking your habit. I do that too! Now I try not to eat after 8 pm, or drink so I don’t wake up in the middle og the night.

You come across as very sincere and authentic when you speak. And, you are absolutely dead on! We can break any habits we don’t want (like eating before bed) by simply focusing on what we DO want , being thankful, and taking action.
Please keep the great content coming!

Hey Lesly
Thank you for your comment!
It’s true eating and sleeping before bed just
doesn’t mix very well…I’ve learned my lesson!
Your welcome Nelson
I’m happy to help…keep watching for more post
as I go through this process!
Hi Bill
Ouch is right…as for me the hammer is down my mind
is made up out with the old habits in with the new good
habits!
Debby,
It’s great to hear that you’re taking charge by realizing the differences in your subconscious and conscious minds (an area I love to talk about as a hypnotherapist). You’re right – we have a lot of patterns and habits that we’ve carried since childhood. The good news is that you can address your subconscious mind to get back on track and reach your goals.
Great video!
Take care,
Larry

Hey Debby,
I love the pivotal thing of turning around the slight edge from the negative to the positive. Looking at it from the slight edge can also help us get out of that I’ll start on Monday that we all do with our own weight loss plans. Thanks for sharing.

I love your expression of the slight edge Debby. It’s almost like what is your dominate thought on a particular topic? Positive, negative, moving toward your goal or away from it. The slight edge is that you have more thoughts of where you want to go than the negative.
Thanks for you video,
Michael
Hey Debby,
You are an amazing woman! Don’t every forget that. We all go through seasons in our lives. Thanks for putting this analogy of the Slight Edge even working against us. It was nice to hear a different perspective on it.
Make it a great day!
God Bless,

Comfort food! Oh, yes! I’m from the midwest, too. I found when I turned 38, I was always called “skinny” and my husband thought ice-cream for dessert nightly was a great idea… yeah. Soon, I found my favorite jeans were too tight. I’d never ever gained a pound (unless I was pregnant and quickly got back to my normal weight right after) so this was a big surprise! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and tips! Happy 51 and enjoy each year with you being in control of your health!
I really enjoyed the video and look forward to more!

It’s all about decision making. Doing the little things that one should do every single day is what take us to where we want to go. It is true that sometimes it takes us years to get there but we are not going to get there anyway if we give up.
So I like your video, I am going to be passing by to see what’s cooking.
